I know how stressful and confusing it can be when applying to a University for the first time without knowing exactly what to do or where to start from, which documents you must present and if you even qualify in the first place.
In order to make things easier, I’m going to briefly talk about the university, admission requirements, how to apply as a Domestic/International Student, documentation etc.
About University Of Canberra (UC)
University of Canberra (UC) is one of the best Universities in Australia, strategically situated in the capital of Australia, Canberra. Canberra’s city fits for persons who may want to either study, live or work there. It is safe, well linked with beautiful scenery etc. All these, plus the university’s own excellence, has helped make the University one of the fastest growing in the world and the fastest in the country.
The university focuses on ensuring progressive teaching and learning and tries to maintain strong ties with industry. This means that students can easily get internships and clinical placement opportunities to get some work experience before they graduate.
The University of Canberra offers admissions to five faculties for undergraduates, postgraduate, and higher degree by research (HDR). They are;

Admission Requirements – University of Canberra
There are certain requirements an applicant must meet to qualify for admissions at the University of Canberra (UC). Some of these requirements are dependent on the particular course you are applying for. However, the general requirements are basically;
Academic requirements qualify for admission into the university to study any course. The applicant must meet the minimum academic requirement for that course. Check out what the minimum academic requirements for your course are before applying.

- English Language requirements
It doesn’t really matter whether you are applying as a domestic or local student; you must meet the University’s English Language requirements. To meet the needed English language requirements, you can take a test like the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) for an international applicant
One of the requirements when applying as an international student is to apply for a visa that will allow you to stay in Australia to study. And the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) is very necessary when applying for a student visa.
- Inherent requirements
These are the abilities, knowledge, skills, etc., that a student must possess in order to study and complete the course they are applying for successfully. How To Apply (Domestic and International Student)
Application method varies depending on what student you are, i.e. Domestic or International student. I’m going to show you how to apply as both a domestic and international student.
How To Apply As A Domestic Student
Applicants of Australian or New Zealand citizenship, an Australian permanent resident or a permanent Australian humanitarian visa holder qualify to apply to the university as domestic students.
However, applicants must note that the application process depends on certain factors such as the type of course etc. Check out these pointers to see which application process goes well with you.
- School Leavers
Applicants who are now completing Year 12 or completed secondary school within the past two years are those classified as recent school leavers. This set of applicants is encouraged to apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). School leavers who apply through the UAC will qualify to check out and apply for other university entry programs.

Exemptions
Applicants who wish to study a University of Canberra course in Brisbane via the schools’ partnership with TAFE Queensland must apply through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).

- Old School leavers and advanced learners
Applicants who are not current Year 12 students or recent school leavers are to apply directly to the University of Canberra through the school’s application portal.

- Applying for non-award study
The non-award study enables you to enrol in single units of study, which is not commonwealth supported; hence you will be required to pay for your own fees upfront. Apply for non-award study on the university’s online application portal search for the course code to complete the application.

How To Apply As An International Student
International applicants can apply directly to the University of Canberra through their online application portal or an agent from their international agent network. You can also apply through the same medium if you’re already enrolled at a university abroad but wishes to study at UC as an exchange student or study abroad program. Note that applying through the university’s online application portal comes with no fee.
Exemptions
International students who are in their final year of secondary school and studying any of the listed programs in Australia must apply through the University’s Admission Centre (UAC). Programs are; an Australian Year 12, the International Baccalaureate and the New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) level 3.

Documents Required for Applications
These are the documents required for applications. Ensure that they are originals or certified copies. Additionally, if these documents are written in any other language besides English, you have to submit a certified translated version with the original. Documents University of Canberra include;
