Walter Sisulu University is a South African higher institution born in 2005 as a merger of three schools, namely, Eastern Cape Technikon, the University of Transkei, and Border Technikon. WSU boasts of having over 27000 students annually and about 2000 staff. Being a comprehensive gateway institution, WSU offers students a sea of courses and programmes to choose to earn certificates, diplomas, and degrees.
Walter Sisulu university was named Walter Sisulu, who was an active fighter for the abolition of apartheid and to gain freedom for all people. Little wonder why WSU promotes freedom of expression and choice as long as it does not encroach on other humans’ freedom.
WSU champions the provision of high-quality innovative technological and academic, entrepreneurship, and work-related programmes that are necessary to further the economic/social growth and development of rural and urban areas.
In its bid for excellence, WSU is in partnership with the Austrian Medical University to allow students’ exchange program between the two universities. Not only will this grant WSU students exposure, but it will also improve the teaching and learning approach of WSU.
